THURSDAY – AUGUST 20TH

As part of our GRADRAISER 2009, we are partnering with local area restaurants, the Georgia Restaurant Association, and CIS of Georgia to raise funds through the national program, Dine Out For Kids. Efforts are dedicated to continued program support. In 2008 CIS of Glynn County was recognized for its achievement during the Dine Out for Kids fundraising activity. Area restaurants participate by giving a portion of their sales in order to sustain our programming. Dine Out for Kids 2009 will be held on August 20th.

A little more about Dine Out for Kids:
DOFK is an initiative that was developed by CIS of Charlotte in North Carolina. DOFK is a fundraiser that provides needed support to local and state CIS offices so that they can continue their work of helping kids succeed in school and prepare for life.
It’s no secret that the dropout phenomenon in this country is at epidemic proportions. Nationally statistics show that 1 out of 3 public high school students won’t graduate. These dropouts create tremendous burdens on our economy. Together we can make a difference in at-risk students’ lives.
DOFK provides an opportunity for restaurateurs and sponsors to support at-risk students in their community by donating a portion of the profits from breakfast, lunch and/or dinner to CIS on a specified date.
For individuals in communities, DOFK provides an opportunity to support local and state CIS programs by dining out on the specified DOFK date.
Proceeds from the event will allow CIS to continue to provide after-school, youth leadership, literacy, parent education and other pertinent programs in communities served. Please join us in participating in this worthwhile event. Click here or on the CIS DOFK Participants link to obtain more information about DOFK in your area.
